For the LORD God is a sun and shield the LORD bestows favor and honor, no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.
Psalms 84:11
Truly God is a covenant-keeping God and He is faithful in fulfilling His promises.
The Psalmist reminds us of the character of God. God is good. He is a sun, bestowing warmth and helping us to grow, and He is a shield, protecting us from ill. He bestows favor and honour, and if it is good for us to have something, then he gives it to us. He refuses to withhold what is good from His children.
Seek not the favor of the multitude, it is seldom got by honest and lawful means. But seek the testimony and approval of one.
Now therefore, I pray you, if I have found favor in Your sight, let me know Your ways so that I may know You becoming more deeply and intimately acquainted with You, recognizing and understanding Your ways more clearly and that I may find grace and favor in Your sight. And consider also, that this nation is Your people.” Exodus 33:13
